HERITAGE
Growing up in a family of home builders, Rich Russell started to learn about residential construction at a very early age. Working summers for his Grandfather and Father, plus a four year apprenticeship with a carpenter contractor, Rich started to gain the knowledge necessary to become a Custom Home Builder. “To become a successful builder, surround yourself with the very best people you can find”. These words spoken by my Grandfather so many years ago, are the basic DNA of our company, and still ring true today.
BACKGROUND
Graduating from Taylor University in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business Administration and earning his Builders License (#2101058655) from the State of Michigan in 1978, Rich purchased a couple of lots, built a house on speculation, and began what is today The Russell Company, LLC.
While building custom homes one at a time for individual clients on their individual lots, we also bought and developed some of the old estate properties along Lake Shore Road and a few other large parcels in Grosse Pointe. Nine subdivisions on 43.5 acres and 40 years later, The Russell Company has built 105 new homes and renovated a number of others throughout the Grosse Pointes, Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills.

Located on South Deeplands Road in Grosse Pointe Shores, our 8 acre, 16 lot subdivision is now being readied for development. Deposits for home construction are being accepted.

To turn your “dream” into reality, we have assembled a professional team of architects, designers, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that the highest quality of workmanship and durability of materials are employed during the construction process, from empty lot to a fully landscaped and completed home.
Each project starts with an individually designed house plan and a client approved construction schedule and construction budget. We know the angst and commotion that can go along with constructing a new home. That’s why we concentrate on making the process as easy as possible. Every member of our team is committed to keeping the workplace neat and clean, creating a work environment suitable for top quality construction.
